An archaeological watching brief was carried out on investigations to the area south of the North Wall embankment to determine the suitability of material from the marsh for use in the expansion of the existing embankment. Small trenches were excavated using a mechanical excavator. No finds or features of archaeological interest were identified during the watching brief (S1).
