Description

Archaeological evaluation took place at Anglian Place, Burton End, Haverhill, Suffolk in advance of the construction of a new block of flats with associated infrastructure. Three trial-trenches (T1-T3) and a single test pit (T4) were laid out across the footprint of the new block of flats ('Block C'). The trenches each measured 10m long by 1.8m wide and the test pit measured 2m by 2m (totalling 58m²). All of the trenches and the test pit were mechanically excavated under archaeological supervision. All archaeological horizons were excavated and recorded according to the WSI.
