Description
An archaeological evaluation was carried out prior to the construction of a pair of semi-detached houses and a double garage. The evaluation consisted of two trenches excavated by machine excavator. The evaluation identified an archaeological horizon towards the western half of the development area at a depth of between 0.6m and 0.75m below the current ground level. The eastern half of the development had been truncated down to the natural geology and subsequently landscaped. This truncation was up to 2m in depth and removed any archaeology that would have been present. In the western area of the site, medieval and Iron Age finds and features were identified (S1).
