Description

The proposed work at Warren Hill, Mildenhall, Suffolk, consists of a topographical survey conducted using a differential global positioning system (dGPS), the excavation of five geological test pits alongside forest track FR306 and the cutting of two sections in a former face of the old gravel workings on Warren Hill. The aim of the work is to produce an accurate survey of the former gravel workings, and to reveal intact sediments related to the former River Bytham and more recent sediments of the River Lark so that they can be recorded and sampled for electron spin resonance (ESR) dating on quartz.
