Description

An archaeological evaluation (five trial-trenches) was carried out on land opposite the Saracens Head public house, Sudbury Road, in advance of the construction of eight new dwellings and associated infrastructure. Five trial trenches were excavated through modern topsoil c0.23m-0.4m tick sealing silty clay loam subsoil c0.12-0.32m thick which sealed natural sands (S1).
