Description

Evaluation trenching was conducted for a nine dwelling development a short distance from the south-western edge of the historic green. 10 trenches were excavated to a depth of 0.4-0.6m with 0.25-0.3m of topsoil above 0.15-0.3m of mid brown sandy subsoil. Below the underlying natural glaciofluvial deposit was very silty orange sand with small flints (S1).
