Description
Evaluation trenching for an eight dwelling development close to the Fen edge revealed two undated ditches and very few stray finds in the upcast spoil. In addition the southern half of the site proved to have been truncated relatviely recently when in use as a builders yard. Ten trenches were excavated. The depth varied between 0.4m-0.5m with 0.1m-0.25m of topsoil above 0.1m-0.25m of mid brown sandy subsoil with the underlying natural glaciofluvial deposit being soft orange sand with small flints (S1).
