Description
Evaluation trenching was carried our for a residential development to the west of the parish church. No archaeological features were revealed, only stray finds. Six trenches were excavated to a depth of 0.5m-0.7m with 0.25-0.3m of topsoil above 0.15m-0.4m of mid brown chalky clay subosoil. The natural glacioflucial deposit at the site was stiff pale brown chalky clay with flints (S1).
