Description
Trenched archaeological evaluation was undertaken ahead of the construction of a reservoir at Aspall. Nine evaluation trenches were excavated which formed a 5% evaluation of the main area to be topsoil stripped with additional trenches in the areas of the silt trap and overflow channel. The 5% sample was made up of 6 trenches each 30m long and one trench 50m long with the two additional trenches each measuring 5m in length.
