Description
Environmental statement carried out ahead of proposed flood defence improvements along approx 4.7km of floodbank that protects Barsham Marshes and Shipmeadow Marshes (compartment 25B of the BFAP) along the right bank of the River Waveney. Compartment 25B has a total area of 268ha, of which approx 50% comprises of drained grazing marshes and 25% under arable crop production. The remaining land is covered with woodland, reedbed and buildings, ponds gardens roads etc. A watching brief was recommended to mitigate impact on archaeological features (S1, S2)
