Description

Assesses the historic origin and development of a pair of grade II-listed thatched cottages which suffered fire damage in January 2009. It places particular emphasis on the timber-framed chimney shared by the two properties, and is intended to inform and accompany an application for Listed Building Consent to Mid Suffolk District Council. The report does not represent a full archaeological record, as key areas were inaccessible at the time of inspection on 2nd March 2009, but includes a number of photographs in support of the text. The cover illustration was taken in 2002 and shows the property from the north-west with no. 37 to the left and no. 39 to the right.
