Description

Evaluation trenching for a planned five dwelling residential development in the large garden of a late Victorian house dated to 1878 and north of Chilton Hall did not reveal any archaeological features and the only stray find of any date was a trade token from Boxford of mid-17th century date. A total of 10 trenches were excavated measuring 20.00m x 1.80m each. Topsoil depth was 150-200mm and subsoil depth was 200-450mm.
