Description
2020: An archaeological evaluation by means of trenching was undertaken at Harrow Green, Lawshall. A total of eight trenches were excavated across the site measuring 9.00-16.00m in length with a width of 1.80m. Trenches were cut through a modern topsoil of 0.24m-0.40m thickness, overllying a subsoil/natural interface layer with a thickness of 0.04m-0.27m onto natural clay deposits at a depth of 0.36m-0.54m. All features contained the same singular fill which was identical to the subsoil/natural interface layer. The majority of the features revealed are thought to be natural in origin, with some possible pits and a ditch. (S1)
