Description

Archaeological recording of archaeological recording in areas of the fort where the fine details will either be lost or covere up by strutural modifications. Part 1: Recording of details of floor make-up exposed within one of the casemates and associated gunners' quarters. Part 2: Recording of a carpentry joint found in the windows of the chambers surrounding the inner parade ground. Part 3: Recording of construction details exposed in trial pits through layers of concrete on the East Curtain, and the relation of particular structures there located. Part 4: A rapid survey, backed up with photographs, of all signing dating to the period of occupation of the fort by the military. The scope of the survey is to locate all existing signing, evidence of where signs have formerly been positioned, and the location and recording of any graffiti contemporary with this period.
