Description
Between the 17th and 20th of September 2024, Oxford Archaeology conducted a trial trench evaluation on farmland at Home Farm, Capel St Andrew, Suffolk (centred on TM 37810 47690). Thirteen trenches, measuring 30m x 2m, were excavated within the 1.55ha site of the proposed development for a reservoir. Alluvial layers relating to the river Tang were also identified in all of the trenches, varying in thickness between 0.12m and 1.56m. Only post-medieval features correlating to boundaries shown on 19th- and early 20th-century maps were identified within the trenches
