Full Description

Fieldwalking by John Newman for SE Suffolk survey located C11-C14 pottery scatter in `field 422', in area circa 120m E-W by 70m N-S. Scatter fronts The Street and adjoins footpath to S.
Finds listed consist of 91 body (including EMed), 3 base and 12 rim sherds Med coarse ware, l body sherd Med glazed and 1 body sherd Thetford type ware. Also 1 PMed body sherd and 1 rim and 3 body sherds Rom pottery (S1). Full details in survey archive.
Partly coinciding with smaller IA? scatter.

WW2 American bomber crash in 1944, with the loss of ten lives, just off the end of Tudor Cottage garden. It is not recorded in any of the official war crash maps, although Parham Airfield Museum has all the details. (S2)
