Mill shown on Hodskinson's 1783 map of Suffolk (S1) and on OS 1st edition of 1836 (S2). Burnt down in early nineteenth century and replaced by another in a slightly different stretch of the river (S5).

Full Description

Mill shown on Hodskinson's 1783 map of Suffolk (S1) and on OS 1st edition of 1836 (S2).
1904 OS 25 inch map shows this as a water mill marked as `corn mill' (S3). A water mill is also shown on Kirby's mill of 1736 (S4) although this is marked E of river bridge rather than to W. May be the earlier mill or mislocation.
