Full Description

Sextens Hall, of the manor of Sextens, `was standing until the commencement of last century' (C19). `It may probably be one and the same manor as that held by the sacristan (sexton) of the Abbey of St Edmund' (S1). Lords of the Manor of Sextens were Sir John Holland, Bart in 1625; John Gwilt Esq, circa 1780 and Edward Gwilt Esq, from 1813 to 1826 (S1), by which time the Hall may well have been destroyed.
