Full Description

`Ice house' marked on OS 6 inch map at TL 899 673 approximately (S1). Adjacent to Icepits Farm. Icehouse of Barton Hall to W. Shown as `Ice- house Plantation' on OS 1st ed, circa 1837 (S2), suggests at least early C19 construction. Barton Hall was rebuilt in early C19. Tithe Map not checked. Top brickwork pulled down circa 1930s (S3).
