Full Description
Two arcs (N & S) of possible circular enclosure or ring ditch of circa 50m diameter with W side open. E side cut by modern field boundary and covered by ?meadow (S1).
Note socketed axe BUC 020 found nearby.
A ring ditch, possibly the remains of a large round barrow, is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs to the western edge of Bucklesham village, Bucklesham parish. The eastern edge of the ring ditch is truncated by an extant field boundary. The ditch is on average about 3 metres wide and the diameter of the circle is circa 50 metres. A probably post-medieval field boundary or enclosure traverses the ring ditch on its southern side. (S2, S3)
