Full Description
Spread of brick rubble at northern end of the site TM 1150 6351 and on the east edge at TM 1108 6347, at the latter there were also two kiln bar fragments, vitrified (or ?glazed) on some surfaces. Also a solid pottery cylinder with an expanded head (red fabric with a slight trace of glaze) - ? a kiln spacer.
There is apparently some hint of brick kilns in this area from the deeds, circa 1700 (S1). Also two black iron-glazed tyg bases, C17 or early C18. The larger base has a very poor internal glaze, reduced to metallic lead spots, & has been roughly chipped at the base, as has the smaller one - ? seconds or wasters.
