Full Description
Square (or rectangular?) enclosure, with gap in N corner (S1). Forming part of (?settlement) cropmark complex, SUE 002.
Not showing on earlier St Joseph AP (S2).
A ditched square enclosure of unknown date to the east of Valley Farm in Sudbourne parish is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs form 1978, centred roughly on TM43985303 (S1). The enclosure measures about 33m x 33m, and is bounded by a ditch on average 1.5m wide. The enclosure ditch appears to be interupted by entrances in the middle of the north west and south east sides. The north eastern and south eastern corners of the ditch are not visible, but this is probably due to damage and not the deliberate location of entrances.
