Full Description

1909: "Major Moore found four sceattas on the beach near Walton Castle (? with runic inscriptions)" (S1) doubted as coin hoard (S3). These coins are thought to be the same as four later reported as being from Woodbridge (WBG Misc CRN 03592) about which there has always been some doubt (Metcalf questions Woodbridge as the findspot in a recent publication)(S2)(S3).
