Full Description
Parallel ditch cropmarks, possible cursus? Ditches circa 20m apart, running E-W/ENE-WSW with indistinct ?terminal at W end. Circa 150m plus long, E end (not visible on APs) may extend up to (or ?beyond) field boundary (S1).
N ditch on same alignment as field boundary shown on 1842 Tithe map & `terminal' appears to correspond with a change in alignment of this boundary (S2)(R1), therefore probably Post Medieval..
No significant results from fieldwalking survey (S2).
Summer 1991: site visit by Brian Charge to examine EEB holes for powerline spur. 0.5-0.8m of top & subsoil remains over chalky clay natural though chisel ploughing normal on field & represents considerable threat (S3).
Circa 250m E of interrupted ditch system, KDG 006.
Site identified withing the desk based assessment and preliminary field walking of the route of Kirtling green to Wixoe Pipeline (S4).
