Full Description

Small concentration of Med pottery, close to Brook Cottages, found during SE Suffolk survey (S1).
Group of two (possibly three) buildings near the lane, and another building further to the NW, marked on William Haiward's Map of Sutton, 1629, and named as Fathies (? name not clear). Tenement, a bond holding of the Manor of Sutton, belonging to Thomas Miles (S2).
Tenement name may relate to the Fathare family, four of whom were taxed in Sutton in 1327 (S3).
