Full Description

1990: Watching brief on area being developed for housing for Bentwaters air-base. Site stripped of top-soil, sub-soil clayey sand. Thin scatter of 14 (listed as 18 but 4 probably natural) flint flakes found, as well as medieval pot sherds 1 rim plus 6 body sherds, C13/C14. Also 2 ?Rom body sherds, PMed glazed body sherd. Houses being built on concrete rafts so little disturbance below sub-soil (S1).

Descriptions of flint finds are broad, dating to a specific period bracket is ill-advised. However, they may be later Prehistoric, based on details of discovery, (S2).
