Full Description

A few coarse Iron Age sherds found on site subsequently occupied in Rom age Ipswich Museum 1937 from Clarke R R) (S1).

The site is situated on a high terrace of the River Lark and is at present under plough. No features can be seen in the sandy soil and no finds to suggest occupation were made. Enquiries among the farm workers (a) proved negative and no recent finds have been reported. Nothing is visible on OS AP 76/060/171. The area is named `Lackford Heath' on the Tithe Map of 1842. (S3)
