Full Description

`Chapel (remains of)' (S1)(R1). `The "Remains of" R/C chapel, C18, are now incorporated in the upper storey of an early C17 farmhouse. The R/C chapel was located in the attic of the farmhouse. Details in listed buildings Greenback.
In the C18 the house was owned by the Roman Catholic Fox family, sold by them c.1778 to the Henniker-Major family of Thornham Magna (S2). The medieval retable in Thornham Parva church is thought to have come from their private Catholic chapel. See also SBK 007.
