Full Description

Small scatter of unglazed sherds recovered from molehills in the meadow in front of Wyken Hall (S1). Mostly sandy fabrics but also some with sparse shell temper. No definitive pieces, but probably roughly C13-C14. Further pottery sherds include one possible Thetford type and some possible C12 (S1). Signs of a quadrilateral earthwork platform adjoining the W side of the Wyken Hall garden. Its S boundary coincides with the S boundary of the Wyken Hall garden. At the E end of this line is a deep linear depression (shown on the 1:10000 map). See also IA.
Originally Bardwell parish but, since parish boundary changes, now in Stanton.
