Full Description
Items located metal detecting by Roy ......(American) amongst dense scatter of Rom finds:-
?BA disc headed pin with conical boss shaped head, slight collar. Shaft now bent in two places but probably originally straight and circa 10cms long. Not parallel sided but graduating to point. Diameter of head 1.5cms, round section stem circa 0.4cms diameter. Plain, undecorated, probably cast in one piece. Some similarity to N German, Danish & Irish examples, principally of the LBA. According to Eogan no examples were known from Britain in 19.. (S1) and 34 from Ireland. The Irish examples illustrated differ in that the boss sits on the disc platform whereas the top of the head is totally conical in the Mildenhall example and the pin shafts tend to be less graduated and are rarely cast together with the head.
Also thick ring with loop worn and ?pulled. Decorated around circumference with vertically hatched band and on faces with concentric row of dots. ?BA. Drawings (S2) in parish file.
Also Rom.
