Full Description
Fine six storey tower mill, built by John Whitmore in 1816/7. It worked until October 1928 and after becoming derelict it was restored by East Suffolk County Council in 1952 with the work being carried out by Smithdale of Acle. Four patent sail frames remain, as does the fantail (although the fan gearing is missing). The cap is ogee shaped with a gallery which was originally of wrought iron. The machinery is all of iron and there are four pairs of stones and two small crushers (S1).
One of the 16 best industrial sites in the county(S4)(S5).
