Full Description

Little Whittingham Green. This green appears to have been enclosed some time ago, the shape being preserved by the surrounding roads. The name `Willingham Green' (sic) is marked against this road pattern on Hodskinson's Map of Suffolk, 1783 (S1) and `Little Whittingham Green' in marked across this area on the OS 1st edition map of 1837 (S2). The modern map shows the name Little Whittingham Green against the road on the east side and the area to the east of it. The Roman road appears to run across the centre of the green.
