Full Description

Probable pottery production site: scatter of 0.77kg of unglazed C13-C14 pottery, including 2 sherds decorated with white slip stripes, also 0.24kg of part green-glazed pottery with a grey or orange fabric (?Grimston type of C13-C14) including a sherd ornamented with pellets and raised ridges and another with an applied thumbed flower rosette. Also 0.5kg of peg-tile fragments, including one with glaze extending over a break surface, another with glaze on both faces and over two breaks, with overfired clay/glaze adhering to it; 0.07kg of curved tile fragments, one with glaze on the inner hollow; 0.025kg of daub/ brick; also oyster and mussel shells and animal bones. Located during the Fenland survey 1988 (S1).
