Full Description

Large triangular green shown and named as Worlingworth Green on J Hodskinson's Map of Suffolk, 1783. Enclosed by the time of the 1st edition OS map circa 1837. Formerly known as Great Green and shown on an estate map of circa 1606. Documentary evidence suggests a creation in the mid-C13 (S1). Part of the green in the SE corner, near Paradise Farm, survives as pasture - the green ditch at this point has been taken into the garden of Paradise Farm and formalised into a short canal with rectangular ends (S2).
