Full Description

November 1992 - Initial assessment of archaeological potential along route of proposed road involved walking the length of the road following machine destumping, examining the exposed surfaces. Nothing was seen but this may have been due to the limiting visibility rather than an actual lack of finds.
January 1993: following construction of new forestry carrstone road, strips of circa 5m width on either side, which had been cleared of vegetation/trees and partially of topsoil, were walked after being allowed to weather. At cited grid reference three heavily patinated worked flints were found close together, including an incomplete oblique/single barbed arrowhead of EBA type, with missing barb (new unpatinated break) and missing tip and corner opposite barb (both patinated breaks)(S1).
For further Preh worked flints next to road line see WRW 017 & WRW Misc.
