Full Description
November 1992 - Initial assessment of archaeological potential along route of proposed road involved walking the length of the road following machine destumping, examining the exposed surfaces. Nothing was seen but this may have been due to the limiting visibility rather than an actual lack of finds.
January 1993: Three single worked flints found at TL 8312 7371, TL 8368 7349 and TL 8376 7377, following construction of new forestry carrstone road during walking of strips of circa 5m width on either side of roadway, which had been cleared of vegetation/trees and partially of topsoil.
Descriptions of flint finds are broad, dating to a specific period bracket is ill-advised. However, they may be later Prehistoric, based on details of discovery, (S2).
Formerly recorded as WRW MISC.
