Full Description
January 1990: Initial excavation of area of 1000 sq m fronting Walnut Tree Lane demonstrated heavy C19 disturbance by quarrying - see PMed. Residual finds included Rom pottery. One Rom coin was also metal detected from the spoil tips (S1). Details to follow.
No Rom features were discovered in a second area, of 250 sq m, excavated in SW corner of plot (S1).
