Full Description

April 1993: Butt end of polished flint axehead with all over polish. Oval section with squared sides, tapering butt. Surviving length 12.5cms, width 6.5cms, thickness circa 3.2cms. Marbled effect flint, mainly pale browny white, with deep reddish brown patches, now lightly patinated to medium brown colour. Found on line of bridleway adjoining Whinnyfield Wood after wheel ruts harrowed level by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) (S1)(S2).
