Full Description

Clay Lane, a curving piece of road leading on from Louse Lane, shown and named on 1841 Tithe Map (S1). Road made redundant in 1845 when Louse Lane was extended in a straight line eastward to join up with the Roman Road (S2). The western part of the Lane is shown on the OS 1:10560 map, but not on the modern 1:10000 map.
