Full Description
Moat, occupied, isolated beside road, rectangular (S1).
Visited by volunteer Chris Davey September 1985, detailed notes made - see parish file (S2).
To the N of the house is the probable remains of a homestead moat, waterfilled, and averaging c 6.0m in width. It is connected at the W end by a drainage ditch c2.0m wide, running N-S, which may be on the line of the W arm. However, the farmer reports that a large quantity of medieval pottery and tile has been found in the field on the W side of the ditch and near to it, which may indicate that the moat extended further westwards at one time.
