Full Description
A complex of largely irregular linear cropmarks which may include two adjoining sub-rectangular fields, approximate dimensions 90 x 70m and 60 x 50m. Also possible trackway (S1).
This site consists of a number of connected linear ditches and banks (the 'enclosures' refered to are actually formed by these linears, an anti-aircraft obstruction recorded separately and ruts due to intensive armoured vehicle training in the area during World War II). Some of the ditches are somewhat sinuous (one forms an elongated enclosure at TM 4052 5518, a second, rectilinear enclosure is visible at TM 40795527) but appear to relate to existing field boundaries and may represent similar boundaries on Iken Heath. The features are visible as earthworks at the end of World War II but are ploughed down by 1953.
