Summary

Two fragments of two moulded stone coffin covers of C13 type, one built into rear garden wall of number 1 Church Lane and other is built into front house wall of number 5 Church Lane. Probably all deriving from ruined church of St Martin. Formerly recorded as BNH MISC

Full Description

Two fragments of two moulded stone coffin covers of C13 type. First appears flat, badly damaged, with simple foliate design, and is built into rear garden wall of number 1 Church Lane. Second is ridge topped with similar, but narrower, foliate design emphasizing ridge and forms one end of coffin. Built into front house wall of number 5 Church Lane, with (3?) other fragments of worked, but plain, limestone.
Probably all deriving from ruined church of St Martin (BNH 003) or possibly from (principally C14!) Church of St Gregory (BNH 046).
