Full Description
A conical bronze knife chape of the Med period was presented to Moyses Hall Museum in 1984 by the finder (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s). The knife chape is 5.2cm in length. The point is blocked by a cross piece. The wide end is scalloped with six rounded points, a small hole below each intersection and each point is decorated with hatching. The joint along the length of the chape is formed by a simple overlapped seam. The other side is decorated with a cross of 5 punch marks surrounded by a lozenge of finer punched points and other lines of the same. Found with a metal detector (S1). (S1).
