Full Description

Coins, said to be IA, including a "Bury tribe" : (Mack 438) type, possibly with three-quarter facing bust, and also early Rom Republican "Aes grave" C3- C2 BC, found illicitly in the vicinity of Bardwell Mill by metal detector, possibly at this grid reference (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s). Probably sold (S1). Accurate locations of sites of these finds (see also BAR 033) marked on 1: 10,000 map in 1988. The `Aes grave' coins, at least 4 or 5, come from BAR 033 (S2).
Note that potin coins and base of pot previously found near Bardwell Mill (see Misc IA).
