Monument record BCC 021 - Coxs Close, Beccles, (Later Prehistoric)

Seven worked flints, including two crude scraper type tools, one small rejected `core' (only two slight flakes removed) and one patinated, then reworked flake, and three other flakes recovered from within former topsoil/ dug soil at circa 1 foot depth (underneath modern topsoil, building debris etc) from series of excavated holes for rose planting. Site on NW facing slope of circa 50 degrees (S1). NGR needs checking against modern large scale OS map. Poor quality of flints suggests later prehistoric date. 1996: 1 cubic metre test excavation in middle of garden by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s). A few struck unpatinated flakes and one scraper on a natural flake found (S2).
