Full Description

In 1646 both 'Seamer Bridge and Ash Bridge in Seamer were very much out of repayre'.
In 1748 Ashstreet Bridge was surveyed for repair.
In 1767 there was payment for repairs to both Semer and Ash Bridges.

In 1783 bridge over River Brett shown on Hodskinson's map (S1). Listed, Grade II. Construction date unknown.
According to resident of Bridge Farm, timbers (of earlier bridge or scaffolding for construction?) are visible in River Brett when water level low (S2).
Note a medieval stone bridge existed in Semer (possibly at Semer Bridge site - see SMR 024).
