Full Description

Probably remains of moat surrounding farm; also Med painted panel, possibly from a tomb canopy, found in the roof of Dowsing's Farm. It depicts kneeling saints carrying jousting shields, one showing the veil of St Veronica, the symbol of Christ (S1). Now in Laxfield Museum. Found by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) (S2).
Note - could this be the home of William Dowsing (d. 1679), the infamous iconaclast of 1643/4, who was a native to Laxfield?
