Full Description

Brooch - probably Collingwood group H. A bronze dolphin brooch C1 or first half C2. A coin of the house of Constantine Gloria Exercitus, second type. A coin (an antoninianus) of Carausius (circa AD 287-296) with an unattributed mint. The obverse side reads : ( ) RAVSIUS PF AUG ; the reverse side reads : PA(x A)VG. Pax standing left holding olive branch and spear. These artefacts were found (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) using a metal detector (S1).
This card was originally called Great Ashfield 010 and is referred to as such in Archaeol in Suff 1984, PSIA, 30, 1985, 1, 43. In fact the site is in Badwell Ash and has become BAA 010.
