Full Description
1923: C Morley observed oblong mortared foundations (small stones set in mortar) in a meadow 'just SE of Scole Bridge', 60 yards S of the river edge and hardly 10 feet above water level. The remains (thought by him to be the N wall of Little Oakley Church - see OKY 001 CRN 01620) stood 18 inches above the surrounding pasture, 41 inches maximum width and 7 feet 2 inches long, with no architectural fragments (S1).
1986: Mortar and flint block observed by M J Hardy 56m S of the Waveney, the block being 2.1m long x 1m wide x 0.56m high, aligned E-W. A few sherds of Rom pottery and animal bone fragments recovered from mole hills in the vicinity (S2).
2002: stone now gone, moved to farm of (Andrew?) West (S3).
