Full Description

1996: Flint tranchet axe found whilst metal detecting (S1). Findspot actually in Barningham parish - marked on map by finder (S2). Mottled medium to dark brown staining on flint remaining blade at butt. Trace of cortext at butt. Length 15.0cms, maximum width (below blade) 4.7cms, maximum thickness 3.5cms. Nearly parallel sides. Weight 239g, (S3, S4).
